Best Brush For... Full Coverage Foundation

The 'Best Brush For' is the start of a new series of posts about my favourite brushes for different areas of makeup application. I'm starting with the Zoeva 102 Silk Finish Brush which applies foundation flawlessly. I wrote about it back in May (here) shortly after I  had first bought it and six months later I'm still loving it more than ever.

Round-top brushes seem to have become the top choice for foundation application over the traditional flat brush as they buff the product in much more seamlessly with no trace of brush strokes. The bristles on the 102 brush are very densely packed so that it evenly transfers all of the foundation onto the skin. I've found that it works best by applying the desired amount of foundation to the brush and then patting it into the skin with dabbing motions. It presses the foundation in place creating a second skin with an airbrush finish which is perfect if you're wanting full coverage!
If you've used Zoeva brushes before you'll know that the quality is fantastic and really affordable too, so this brush definitely follows suit with it's sleek design, super soft bristles and priced at only £11.50. In fairness I haven't tried any similar brushes from the higher end brands such as MAC or Bobbi Brown so I'm unable to compare on quality however this brush ticks all the boxes for my foundation application requirements and is much purse friendlier too.

What's you're favourite brush for full coverage foundation?

  1. I usually stay away from brushes because they always tend to leave streaks on my face. This one sounds perfect though! I haven't seen this brand around before, I wonder if its available in Canada?
