The palette contains eight different shades that range from matte, shimmer, merged baked blusher and a merged baked highlighter, and each individual pan of colour is huge! They all look so pretty lined up next to each other and I couldn't wait to dip in and try them out.
They are a lovely powdered formula which is brilliantly easy to blend and despite not being quite as pigmented as some other blushers that I've tried, you can very simply build up the colour gradually as much as you like. This also helps to avoid going way too overboard with the blush and looking a little clown-like (it's easily done!). Hot Spice is an array of stunning warm shades that compliment most skin tones and are really suitable for everyday wear. I tend to use my Illamasqua Highlighter Brush to apply with as it fits neatly into the pan and picks up just the right amount of colour to dust along the cheekbone. I also occasionally like use my Real Techniques Multi Task Brush as it's nice and fluffy to distribute evenly across the apple of my cheeks. The powders are so easy to blend and leave a very delicate glow on the skin.
Make up Revolution also state that these can be used for highlighting and contouring too. I find that the colours in this particular palette are totally the wrong shades to be trying to create shadowing with however the merged baked highlighter at the top right-hand corner is a lovely pearlescent shimmer to add a gorgeous sheen along the top of the cheek bones.
I'm so glad that I've finally got round to trying something from Make Up Revolution and I'm definitely going to be trying more from them as they have most certainly won me over with this palette!
Have you tried Hot Spice?
