I'm back with my second installment of my 'Best Brush For' series and this time I'm discussing defined brows. I currently use Sleek's Brow Kit to fill in my brows which comes with a little mini brush. This is perfect if you're wanting to top up your brows on the go, however not so perfect for everyday use. When I first started using this kit, the mini brush was the only one that I used however after sometime I decided to purchase the Zoeva 317 Wing Liner Brush which is normal sized- and the difference is incredible!
As you may notice from the name of the brush that it is intended for winged liner, but as with most makeup brushes they're all pretty versatile and this particular brush is commonly used for the brows. The soft bristles are very flat and shaped to form an angled point, hence why it's good for winged liner, however it's sharp end enables a very defined line around the shape of the brow. It's actually a very similar shape to the mini brush that came in the Sleek kit but the long ferule and the enlarged width of the brush makes it far less fiddly to work with and fills in the brow a lot quicker, which consequently makes for a much better brow!
The way I like to use this is by dipping the edge of the brush into the wax of the brow kit and then very carefully going along the outline of the brows to give a sharp line and very pointed end. I then wipe the brush clean and go in with the powder using the edge of the brush again to create fine hair stroke movements. This fill the brows in and blend out the inside line to ensure that it doesn't look too harsh.
The sharp edge of the Zoeva 317 creates a perfect defined line every time and is what I have found to be the best tool for getting the most clean-cut, neat brows. If you have quite fine, sparse eyebrows then this is the brush for you, it's amazing! If on the otherhand they're on more of the fuller, thicker side then instead I would suggest trying Zoeva's Brow Line Brush- a product that I will talk about in further detail in a future post.

I find the brow line brush is great but it's not as easy to get a really sharp and defined line. Definitely recommend giving this one a go :)
DeleteI love Sleek products but I've never tried their brow products, and that brush sounds so good! Please check out my blog www.justaddgloss.blogspot.co.uk x
ReplyDeleteThe Sleek brow kit is definitely my favourite! I know Benefit do a very similar one but for the difference in price I'm sticking with Sleek- and it works a treat with the Zoeva brush!
DeleteLovely post, that product looks awesome.

I really like the brow brush and it's great for filling in the brows, especially if they're very full but I prefer a defined line which I can only achieve with the Wing Liner brush. You'll have to let me know what you think!
DeleteI have the same one and I am using it for eyebrow too and few other things :)

It's a fab brush isn't it! What else do you use it for?
DeleteI love this brush for filling in eyebrows. I find that it is just small enough for the little details.

This brush looks great! I don't have any of the Zoeva brushes & am in need of a brush for my brows so I think I'll be starting with this one! I currently use the Nars brush, no. 5 I think, but the width is thicker & the bristles are firm. This works ok for me as I like to add a little extra in terms of shape & size to my sparse brows but it does mean that I can't get a really nice point at the tail end which I'd really quite like! Xx

Such a great post! I hope to pick up some Zoeva brushes later this year so I'll definitely be looking out for this one ^_^ currently I am using the ABH brow duo brush in the number 12 I believe. I love it because the spoolie of the end is always in use for when I over do my brows! But I feel like I need more than one main brow brush in my life so this is next on my list, thanks for the great review xx
