My Concealer Favourites

I owe a lot of thanks to concealer for allowing me to 'fake being awake' and making me feel so much better when I've had a huge breakout. It's a huge saviour and one of those make-up products that I truly could not be without. Even on a no make-up day I'll still have a little dabble with the concealer! I'm a complete sucker for any form of cover-up but these are my current favourite go-to products.

I use this as my day to day concealer. Brilliant not only as a concealer but for contouring too as it contains different shades ranging from light to dark. Concealer wise it has good coverage and due to the variation in colours I'm able to use a lighter shade to cover under eye bags and a slightly darker shade that matches my foundation  to hide blemishes. I also found this very useful to have in my make-up kit whilst at university as there are shades to match all skin tones without having to  carry round loads of different products.

Illamasqua Concealer | £14.50
This concealer is a dream to use as it blends so effortlessly and leaves skin looking flawless. It colour corrects too so works to neutralise any redness from blemishes and purple tones from under eye bags, whilst still looking beautifully natural. This lasts well throughout the day as it's not too oily so doesn't tend to sit in the creases or melt off the skin.

I use this budget concealer to brighten underneath the eye rather than as a cover  up so I often team it with Illamasqua or Crownbrush. The stick is so easy to work with as I do a quick swipe on the bone of the eyesocket and blend downwards in a triangle shape. This lifts the under-eye area, making the skin look a lot brighter and adding more dimension to the face. It's  a simple trick but makes a huge difference.

Clarins Instant Concealer | £21.50
I've saved the best till last as this is the holy grail of under-eye concealers. It's a gorgeous lightweight formula that glides onto the skin so smoothly and illuminates the whole area, giving a bright-eyed and alert appearance. This is best used for dark circles rather than for covering blemishes as it's not thick enough to hide, but is more suited to colour correcting instead. If eye-bags are one of your make-up woes then this is a product that I'm sure you'll love. Highly recommended!

Concealer Tip- After applying concealer with a brush blend it in by patting with the your finger. This will create the most natural finish and give the illusion of a second skin. Finish off by setting with powder to hold in place all day long.

What's your favourite concealer?

love Katya x
