Sleek | Sunset and Birthday Suit

Sleek Sunset Eyeshadow Palette and Matte Me Lips in Birthday Suit
Sleek is a highstreet brand that I honestly couldn't rave about more! I first came across the  i-Divine Original Palette  years ago by a friend and  couldn't believe how high quality it was for such a small price. It wasn't long before I went out and bought a brand new palette for myself- and that it where our love affair started! Ever since I've made numerous Sleek purchases, with i-Divine Sunset Palette and Matte Me Birthday Suit being the latest additions.

I find that the Eyeshadow palettes definitely represent the best of Sleek. They're so beautifully pigmented and come in such a wonderful array of shades! Sunset is one that I haven't ever seen in the shops but as soon as Sleek instagrammed a picture of it I went on the hunt. The palette has an assortment of 12 different shades and is a mixture of burnt coppers, pinks, purplish-reds, golds and oranges- with a blue thrown in there too. I personally steer clear from Afterglow, Sunrise and Skyline as they're a little too garish for me! There's a recent image floating around on the internet of Olivia Palmero with blue Eyeshadow which she somehow makes look so good but it's definitely not a shade that I would ever be able to pull off- not unless I was trying to mimic my 12 year old school disco days! The rest of the palette is all perfectly wearable and I can imagine getting lots of use out of them, particularly over the summer months due to their lovely warm tones.

Sunset is filled with mostly shimmered colours other than one matte black. Most of the other Sleek palettes that I've tried are more of a even mix of shimmer and matte however I'm definitely in favour of the shimmers. I find that they blend really well and leave the most gorgeous iridescent finish and the colour payoff is brilliant!

The range of shades in the palette all compliment each other really nicely are lovely mixed together to create different looks such as a smokey eye using Nightfall for  the darker undertone or a more subtle look with Golden Hour, better suited for the daytime. I've found it to be a pretty versatile palette for both the day and evening. I'm such a fan!

Sleek Sunset Eyeshadow Palette and Matte Me Lips in Birthday SuitI'm so glad that I've finally got my hands on Matte Me in Birthday Suit as I've wanted it for so long! It's a pinkish brown colour in a creamy formula that dries matte on the lips. Although probably not of as quite great quality, I'd say this is comparable to the Lime Crime Velvetines with its lovely velvet texture and amazing staying power! I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the applicator as it's very rigid with no bend allowance so it's difficult to evenly apply, however using a lip brush instead creates a much smoother application. I've also found this it can be very drying and leaves a tacky feeling on the lips although this isn't uncommon amongst matte lip products so you just need to ensure that lips have been exfoliated and a balm applied beforehand . Other than that this is an impressive product from Sleek and I'm not surprised it's a best seller. It lasts so well on the lips and the colour definitely has that 90's nude feel!
