Best Bottom Lash Mascaras

Best Bottom Lash Mascaras
Mascaras in general get discussed a lot amongst beauty blogs and I've got an every growing list of ones that I have tried and ones that I want to try, however I don't find bottom lash mascaras are often specifically spoken about. I believe that my top and bottom lashes have different needs and requirements so therefore warrant the use of a different mascara for each. For my top lashes I want volume, length and curl whilst my bottom lashes simply just need the length and to be waterproof. I've come across two mascaras that fit the criteria for the latter perfectly.
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
There's no guesses as to what Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara is for. It quite literally does exactly what is says on the tin. Specially adapted to the bottom lashes it has a miniature applicator to gently coat the fine hairs. My problem with a standard mascara is that it layers too much product onto the bottom lashes and makes them look thick and clumpy so this small brush enables an even application. It also helps to get to those hard to reach lashes in the corners and it's smudgeproof too.

I've been using this for two weeks now and I have found that despite a few blobs, it's definitely a lot less than a standard mascara. I put this down to being new as I've often found with brand new mascaras that there's always a lot of excess product on the brush for the first few weeks. Hopefully any signs of clumping will reduce more and more after each use. I'll update later! Other than that it separates the lashes and makes them look long and feathery.
Collection Longer Lash Mascara
For a budget alterative, and a mascara that I've been using on my bottom lashes for a number years is the Collection Lash Lengthening Mascara . If you've tried this before and used it on your top lashes, chances are you will have hated it. It doesn't add volume and the formula is quite dry so unless you spend a long time coating your lashes in layers of mascara, it barely looks like you've got any on. For the bottom lashes however, it works perfectly and it's lack of 'wetness' is actually why I picked it up in the first place.

I wanted a waterproof mascara on my lower lashes to prevent any smudging but I decided to go for a cheap brand as I anticipated it wasn't going to coat the product onto my lashes quite as well as perhaps a more expensive version would, which for my bottom lashes is exactly what I wanted. In other words, I wanted it to be rubbish! Maybe a bit strange but it works! It lightly coats the lashes so that they don't look clumpy and its waterproof qualities mean that I don't end up with panda eyes at the end of the day. I've also noticed that despite the Clinque mascara wand being a lot tinier the actual shape of the brushes are similar with very short bristles to really target  the hairs and avoid transferring onto the skin underneath.

Since adding the Bottom Lash Mascara to my collection it's the one that  I reach for the majority of the time but if you want a cheaper option then at £2.99 the Collection Lash Lengthening Mascara is  great alternative.

Have you tried either of these mascaras?

love Katya x
