This is a new feature on my blog where I will write about my chosen product that I've really been loving each month! To kick start my first post it had to be Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop which is still yet to be released in the UK. I was lucky that I managed to pick it up from Sephora whilst I was in the states in September. I wanted to buy something that I wasn't able to get in the UK and whilst I didn't go there to intentionally pick up a highlighter, Champagne Pop was simply irresistible.
Quite literally placed on a pedestal at the front of the store it was hard to miss. I'd heard of Becca before but I'm not that familiar with the brand so I was interested to try it out. It only took one simple swatch on the back of my hand for me to be sold in an instant. The super pigmented pressed powder has the most beautiful soft velvet texture and the white gold shimmer looks ultra gorgeous against the skin. It's the absolute winner of all highlighters!
The creation of Champagne Pop is a collaboration with beauty youtuber Jaclyn Hill and it's a dream pairing! It's described as a soft white gold with peachy undertones which look simply amazing when it catches the light. The shimmer has very fine particles so it doesn't look too over the top and gives a lovely soft, delicate offering. Jaclyn has suggested that it's best to apply this is a 'C' shape around the eyes, the bridge of the nose, the inner corner of the eyes and under the brow bone. This will really accentuate the features and give an overall healthier complexion. I've found that it works best by applying very lightly and building it up to avoid going to overboard. As beautifully as a highlighter can illuminate the skin, it can be completely ruined if it's too much.
I've been using a fan brush to apply this with as it gently diffuses the powder across the tops of the cheekbones. I'm currently using the mini fan brush that comes with the Benefit Powderflage, which isn't ideal as it's so small and a larger brush would be a lot more efficient but the main thing is that it works for the time being to apply the product and demonstrate Champagne Pop's capabilities! When I eventually get round to it I'm planning on purchasing the Zoeva 129 Luxe Fan Brush.
This is such a luxurious product and one that I know I will be reaching for time and time again, particularly when I'm doing a full face of makeup for special occasions. If you're wanting to add a little extra glam and radiance to your usual makeup routine then this is the one.
